Meditation has been studied for decades and its benefits to the nervous system and general well-being have been documented.

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Lower heart rate
  • Slower respiratory rate
  • Improved blood circulation
  • Less perspiration
  • Less anxiety
  • Lower blood cortisol levels
  • Less stress
  • More feelings of well-being
  • Improved deep relaxation

I bolded “lower cortisol levels” because that is directly related to how our bodies store fat. Lowering your cortisol levels, can  lower your body fat. Most people can use more feelings of well-being and a little more relaxation, too, so why not try to meditate? Start with five minutes a day and work up from there.
