Meditation has been studied for decades and its benefits to the nervous system and general well-being have been documented.

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Lower heart rate
  • Slower respiratory rate
  • Improved blood circulation
  • Less perspiration
  • Less anxiety
  • Lower blood cortisol levels
  • Less stress
  • More feelings of well-being
  • Improved deep relaxation

I bolded “lower cortisol levels” because that is directly related to how our bodies store fat. Lowering your cortisol levels, can ¬†lower your body fat. Most people can use more feelings of well-being and a little more relaxation, too, so why not try to meditate? Start with five minutes a day and work up from there.
